브리즈는 작가 공개 공모를 기반으로 운영되는 독립 아트페어입니다. 아트페어 자체가 낯설던 2012년부터 작가 중심 구조를 지속해오며, 신진 작가 발굴의 중요한 플랫폼으로 자리해왔습니다.

브리즈는 신진 예술가의 지속 가능한 창작 환경을 모색하는 사회적 실천에서 출발했습니다. 당시 여러 미술 대학들이 취업률이 낮다는 이유로 폐지되기도 하고, 젊은 예술가들이 설 자리는 좁기만 했습니다. 브리즈는 예술의 가치를 믿었고, 미래의 대가가 될 예술가들이 작업을 그만두지 않기를 바랐습니다.

브리즈는 네 가지 원칙을 바탕으로 운영되어 왔습니다.

1. 학력과 경력 제한 없이 공개 모집으로 작가를 선정하고 참가비를 받지 않습니다. 

2. 예술가와 예술가, 예술가와 관람객이 연결되는 플랫폼을 만듭니다. 

3. 작품 가격을 투명하게 공개하고 가격 할인을 하지 않습니다.

4. 작가 선발부터 전시, 판매, 정산의 전 과정에서 공정과 신뢰를 우선합니다.

이는 브리즈가 지향하는 미술 생태계의 방향입니다. 100여 개가 넘는 아트페어가 열린다는 2026년, 브리즈는 다시 묻습니다. 신진 예술가들의 상황은 나아졌을까요? 예술은 우리 삶 가까이에 와 있을까요?

브리즈는 작가에게는 작업을 지속하는데 힘이 될 동료와 팬을, 관람객과 컬렉터에게는 즐거운 예술적 체험을 제공하고자 합니다. 브리즈에서는 처음으로 작품을 판매하는 예술가의 감동, 처음으로 작품을 구입하는 관람객의 기쁨을 자주 목격할 수 있습니다.

Hello

Breeze is an independent art fair operated on the basis of an open call for artists. Since 2012, when the concept of an art fair was still unfamiliar to many, Breeze has sustained an artist-centered structure and established itself as an important platform for discovering emerging artists.

​

Breeze began as a social initiative seeking a sustainable creative environment for emerging artists. At the time, several art colleges were being closed due to low employment rates, and opportunities for young artists were increasingly limited. We believed in the value of art and hoped that artists who might one day become masters would not give up their practice.

Breeze has been guided by four core principles.

1. we select artists through an open call without restrictions on academic background or career, and we do not charge participation fees.
2. we create a platform that connects artists with artists, and artists with audiences.
3. we disclose artwork prices transparently and do not offer discounts.
4. we prioritize fairness and trust throughout the entire process—from artist selection and exhibition to sales and settlement.

These principles reflect the direction of the art ecosystem Breeze seeks to foster. In 2026, when more than a hundred art fairs are being held, we ask once again: Have conditions for emerging artists truly improved? Has art come closer to our everyday lives?

Breeze aims to provide artists with peers and supporters who empower them to continue their practice, and to offer audiences and collectors a meaningful and enjoyable artistic experience. Here, one can often witness the emotion of an artist making their first sale, and the joy of a visitor purchasing their first artwork.​
